The Cy-Fair Independent School District food service department has received the Standards of Excellence designation, the highest level of accreditation given by the Texas Association for School Nutrition.
To earn the Standards of Excellence recognition, a district’s food service department must voluntarily achieve targets in various categories.
Among the highlights cited in Cy-Fair’s evaluation include consistently positive kitchen inspections, comprehensive employee training programs, a dedication to fiscal soundness, an expansion to the Food Production Center in 2005, high growth in student breakfast and lunch participation, earning awards in the Healthier US School Challenge, and several nearly-perfect reviews by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
The end result is a staff of professionals dedicated to providing students top-notch meals that are nutritious, flavorful, and safely prepared every school day.
