As the rest of the nation deals with a housing market that continues to slump, growth is booming around Houston. The Houston area was recently ranked as first in the entire nation in residential construction activity, with a total value of $4.17 billion in 2010.
Houston was by far the leader in home building among the nation’s 366 metro areas according to the U.S. Census Bureau, coming in well ahead of Dallas/Ft. Worth at $3.87 billion in second place. Rounding out the top five are New York City, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C.

Cy Woods Homecoming 2011 is just around the corner! The Cy Woods Wildcats football team will face off against Cy Creek’s team on October 21 at 7pm. Cy Woods High School is looking forward to welcoming back its alumni and invites everyone to join in the festivities.
The dance tickets will be on sale during lunch for $20. This year the students will enjoy beautiful decorations, tasty refreshments, professional photographs, and a DJ. All students are invited to attend!

Its an awful long way to Cypress from Shenzhen, China, but two local sisters will likely be all smiles on their voyage home.
Nnemkadi and Chney Ogwumike led USA Basketball to the gold medal at the Women's World University Games with dominating performances throughout the tournament, defeating a talented Taiwan squad 101-61 in gold-medal game on August 21.
