The Houston area’s largest annual Geographic Information Systems (GIS) showcase will be Thursday, Nov. 10, at LoneStar College-CyFair at 9:00 am.

This informative event is free and open to both LSC students and the public.


The North Cypress Medical Center has opened a new emergency location on Highway 290 at Fry Road. This new facility has a sophisticated level of care and cutting edge technology in this prosperous area of town.

The Emergency Center doctors are in the building all day, every day and specialists are only a phone call away. It has ten beds and special units for critical and trauma care. The Emergency Center offers outpatient labs and a radiology suite, Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4pm. Services available include ultrasounds, X-rays, CT, and an avant guarde MRI machine which is only one of two in the nation that has the most enhanced imagining and best image quality.


Rosehill Cheer Earns Numerous Awards at NCA Camp

The cheerleaders of Rosehill Christian School returned from the National Cheerleaders Association camp will many accolades. The girls awards included all superior ratings, the Motion Award, the SPOT Award, and the sought after Herkie Team Award.

The coveted Herkie Award is based on a team that portrays excellent leadership qualities, values, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The qualities are a considered an integral to cheering and are the ideals that the NCA is founded upon.


Studies have shown over the last several decades the number of volunteers in public schools is on the rise. The increasing participation comes from local businesses, retirees, and college students, not just mothers of the school children. This year Cy-Fair ISD will host the Volunteers in Public Schools Conference at the Berry Center, 8877 Barker Cypress Road on Friday, October 14th from 8 am to 2pm.

Ensuring the successful efforts of the volunteers, ensures successful results for the children. Michelle Rice, Copeland Elementary School principal will present the keynote address, “Cultivating Complaint-Free Zones,” during the conference.


The Pumpkins Have Arrived at Cypress UMC

Both Fall and the pumpkins are here again! It’s a tradition and a privilege for most children across the nation to pick out their own pumpkin to be carved up for the fall festivities. The Cypress UMC pumpkin patch is a fun safe place for families to enjoy and celebrate fall. They invite the community to pack a picnic and join in the fun.

The Houston Chronicle rated the pumpkin patch one of Houston’s top ten to visit! Remember the camera, as there are tons of photo opportunities for the whole family. Cypress UMC’s pumpkin patch, located at 13403 Cypress North Houston Road is open daily from 10am until 7pm through out the entire month of October.
