According to the Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce's website, "for twenty-five years, the Chamber has provided a collective voice for over five hundred members that promotes a pro-business culture" in the rapidly-growing Cy-Fair area.
The Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce recently recognized Christy Love as its Ambassador of the Year. Ms. Love is the general manager for Community Impact Newspaper for Northwest Houston. She has served as Chamber Ambassador for two years.

Cypress Ranch High School senior Weston Grove was recently recognized as a McNair Scholar at the University of South Carolina. The McNair Scholars Program is one of the most prestigious scholarships at the University of South Carolina, and Grove was one of only twenty selected out of all applicants.
Selection for the McNair Scholars Program is based on academic excellence, demonstrated leadership, enriching extracurricular activities, an outstanding essay response and a face-to-face interview. Grove is currently ninth in his class, a National Merit Scholar, a third-year starter on the Mustang soccer team, and is class vice president. Grove plans to major in biomedical engineering.

Critter Club Story Time, which occurs weekly at REI-WIllowbrook, combines entertaining tales about different furry critters in a fun forest environment, as well as quality social time and meeting new friends for young children and their parents. Children ages infant and up are welcome to enjoy Critter Club Story Time.

The Matt Family Orchard, 21110 Bauer Hockley Road is a family owned and operated orchard with a wide variety of fruit including 40 acres with blueberries, blackberries, some thornless, figs, jujubes, Asian pears, Asian persimmons and citrus.
Starting May 22 the orchard will open to the community for picking blackberries and blueberries and is sold by the pound. The orchard has a 2000 square foot pavilion, a beautiful picnic area , a playground, and barn with restrooms. Children will have a blast observing the free roaming guinea hens! The orchard provides wagons, but guests can bring their own as well.
The orchard has 800 blueberry bushes, 6,000 thornless and thorn blackberry bushes, 300 fig trees, 100 pear trees, 125 jujube trees, 1,100 Asian persimmon trees, and 40 citrus trees. They also sell honey, preserves, spreadable fruit and jams. Bring the family for a fun, peaceful country outing!

Cypress-area senior citizens will soon have a place to hang out and call their own.
The Vaughn Gage Senior Activity Center is scheduled to open next month during the first week of June at its location currently under construction at 11020 Saathoff Road, in Cypress.
