The Star Business Achiever Award was recently given to the Houston Black Book at the Tri-County Black Chamber’s 5th Annual Plan of Work Conference.
The Houston Black Book is now entering its fifth year and was recognized for its quality and commitment to socioeconomic development. It provides information and updates on what’s happening in the Greater Houston/Galveston area’s African-American community. It also provides a website where members of the community can post their own events.
“We all aspire to monetary gain, but working for the greater good of the community is just as vital,” said publisher Craig L. Amos, who accepted the award. “That’s what makes both our company and the chamber similar and dynamic. We employ the use of innovative business ideas and exceptional forethought to provide its members and customers with unparalleled opportunities to respectfully showcase out business and unique cultural compositions.”
